History
The cities of Muko and Saratoga signed their sister city agreement in November 1984. It was the year when Muko celebrated its 1200th anniversary of being the Imperial Capital. Since the signing of the agreement, Saratoga Sister City has enjoyed many benefits in its relationship with Muko:
- Citizen groups have taken turns visiting each other’s city.
- Celebrations of anniversaries of the agreement every five years.
- Student exchanges for five students from each city hosted by resident families.
- Creation of taiko groups in each city.
- Meetings of the general membership featuring presentations of Japanese culture.
